Lisu Vega + Juan Henriquez: Collaborative Project
By Felix Suazo
Lisu Vega and Juan Henriquez not only share life experiences but also some common issues about art and its possibilities. In “Collaborative Project”, a BAG Art Gallery initiative conceived especially for Pinta Miami 2021, the two artists assume an artistic dialogue centered on the body and the line, each one from their respective languages. Between one and the other there is a flow of tensions and balances that make up a complementary universe. On the one hand, the volumes woven in space; in the other side; the fields of color, crossed by motley lines. Both, engrossed in the work of the body, while building its warp of stories, memories and desires. Based on this premise, the “Collaborative Project” by Lisu Vega and Juan Henriquez brings together a selection of works made of canvas, metal and recovered ropes, whose joint presentation allows us to articulate a metaphor of the rhizomal knotting of life and art.
